Warm Hands and Full Hearts National Challengehttp://www.phccweb.orghttp://www.myplumber.com

In 2004, My Plumber held our first food drive. It resulted in 1,000 pounds of food for the hungry. In 2005, we bumped up our efforts and with the help of our customers; we raised 10,000 pounds of food for the hungry. Last year we worked a little smarter and raised 23,895 pounds of food for those in need, throughout the 17 counties that we serve in Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland.

This year, the owner of My Plumber, R. Wendell Presgrave decided what we do to raise food for the hungry works too well to keep to ourselves. He said we had to find a way to share the action plan we’ve been using to raise so much food with other service companies.

The National PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association) kindly agreed to help us and with their help, we are offering the Warm Hands and Full Hearts National Challenge. We will give you the plan including supporting materials, press releases, graphics and posters. We challenge you to take the plan and use it to raise food for those in need in your area. It’s that simple.

Our personal food drive will begin on November 1st of 2007 and our goal this year is 30,000 pounds of food. If you choose you may start your drive on our date, but remember that hunger exists in all seasons and children are deeply affected in the summer months; school is out and school feeding programs end.
